Kanas Lake-a lake with water monsters?
 Lake Nyss is famous for the so-called mysterious monster living inside. It is said that some monster had been seen in Kanas Lake of Xinjiang.
Kanas Lake, nestled at Buerjin County, the Altay Mountains(1400m a.s.l), Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, originated from Tapenggeduo Glacier, is a terminal lake. The lake is surrounded with cliffy mountains. With deepest of 188.5 meters, it is the second deepest inland lake in China.
Kanas Lake is rich in fishes, i.e. 3 orders, 5 family, 8 genera, among which the cold-water fishes are dominant. The water is light green. The transparency is about two meters and the maximum 3.1 meters. The "Kanas monster" could be a kind of giant red fish or the fish group. For the sake of bad transportation, the fish resource has not been explored here. The lake is state natural reserve. The snowcap Mountains and the beautiful lake warmly welcome you.
