Red Dragon-back

It developed from Dragon-eye. The body is red and like Egg-fish there is no dorsal fin, but eyeballs are protruding. Such varieties were recorded in the "Ancient and Modern Picture Album Corpus: Birds and Fishes" published in 1726, among which there were two with no dorsal fin, which indicates that Dragon-back came out in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). However, there haven't appeared many colors since then. To demonstrate that it has equal status with Fantail, Dragon-eye and Egg-fish in terms of classification, this variation was once selected, crossbred and cultivated purposely. In recent years, colors and mutants have been gradually increased. Those appearing later include Transparent Red and White Dragon-back, Red and White Dragon-back, Silver Dragon-back, etc.
