Color enamels porcelain

Color enamels porcelain is royal ware fired in the palace in the reign of Kangxi, Yongzhen and Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. The manufacturing method is: Jingdezhen imperial kiln fired plain base by selecting the best materials; then fired plain base was sent to the manufacturing division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Qing Palace for decorating and re-firing. This porcelain for the special use of palace and offerings for religion sacrifice are exquisitely manufactured, high in cost and low in output. Cloisonne arts and crafts, which use copper base to draw out silks on blue ground in the reign of Jingtai of the Ming Dynasty, were also called enamels. It includes gold enamels, copper enamels and color enamels, which are similar to cloisonne and exported from foreign countries in the early stage of the Qing Dynasty.

During the reign of Yongzhen, color enamels were the most exquisite. The labor division is very strict, for example there are people who are specialized for painting, designing and painting. By absorbing the techniques of traditional Chinese painting and ceramics decorating, it combines to use calligraphy, poem inscribing and sealing.

Color enamels bowl with four-season flower designThe piece is made in the reign of Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, 7.2cm in height, 6cm in depth, 15cm in caliber and 5.7cm in foot diameter. The outer wall was applied with famille rose as the ground, mixed with design of yellow tawny daylily, and painted respectively with four-season's flower of peony, lotus, chrysanthemum, camellia and plum blossom inside reserved panels. Four Chinese characters in regular script were inscribed on its bottom, which means "made in the palace of Hangxi Emperor of Qing Dynasty".

Made by Jingdezhen kiln in the Qing Dynasty, 14.1cm in height, 6.8-3.4cm in diameter and 7.4-4.5cm in foot diameter, this piece is collected in Shanghai Museum. The vase has a straight bottleneck, binding neck, oblate body. It indents from top to bottom in a shape of straight lines. There are left-falling legs outwardly on its lower part. The mouth is close to the bottom. It is commonly called as twinned vase. There are design of dragon to the left and design of phoenix to the right on two sides of vase body. It was applied with red, yellow, blue, green and dark reddish purple color. The neck and the gaskin are finely decorated with interlocking flower and seawater design.

Made by Jingdezhen kiln in the Qing Dynasty, 19.15cm in height, 5.55cm in caliber and 10.6cm in abdomen diameter, 6.2cm in bottom diameter, this piece is collected in Shanghai Museum. The vase is a royal ware of the Qing Palace, which has bound neck, long and round belly, vertical and ring foot. The glaze is fine and white. The body is enamels painted with design of lake and rock, bamboo and chrysanthemum, floral and plant, and quail.
