Tender and bight-colored yellow glaze porcelain

Yellow glaze porcelain is low temperature glaze porcelain, which uses appropriate iron as the color agent and lead as latent solvent, fired in oxidizing flame.

Traditional low temperature yellow glaze have been fired through all the dynasties from the Han Dynasty (202B.C-204A.D) in China. Yellow glaze in the reign of Zhengde and Hongzhi of the Ming Dynasty reaches the highest level in history. The tone of such kind of yellow glaze is even and identical; the glaze surface is level and even with good luster.

Collected in Beijing Forbidden City Museum, this piece is made in the reign of Yongzheng of the Qing (1616-1911) Dynasty, 6cm in height, 30cm in caliber, 19cm in foot diameter. It has open top, oblate arc-shaped wall, waistband, and ring foot as well. The bottom heart is painted with lotus seed. So the plate looks like a lotus flower in the shape of plate.

Now collected in Nanjing Museum, this piece is made in the reign of Kangxi (1654-1722) of the Qing (1616-1911) Dynasty, 17.2cm in height, 37.6cm in caliber, 16.7cm in foot diameter. It is royal ware with open top, arc-shaped belly and ring foot.
