　　Yarlung Zangbo Canyon locates in the downstream of the Yarlung Zangbo River. The vertical section of the river bed shows that: from under Pai village of Mainling county to Baxika, the river bed section as long as 504 kilometers in the great canyon suddenly turns steep and straight. It brings with it a tremendous amount of water and forms a strange horseshoe-like bend along Mount Nanjagbarwa, which rises strongly in a weak tectonic zone. The great canyon also serves as the largest moisture passage to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. These two basic characters together make it become an unco natural sight of a world level.
